Hi, I’m Maria — and Shades of Comms is a Substack exploring how PR and communications work around the world, through the lens of local experts and international professionals.

Since 2018, I’ve worked in PR across local, regional, global, and now international teams. Along the way, I’ve become fascinated by the many shades of comms: how culture, language, and context shape the way we tell stories.

This project is my way of exploring those differences — by speaking to people who truly understand their market or niche, and have stories to share about what works, what doesn’t, and what gets lost in translation.

It’s an experiment for me, too. Let’s dive in.
